Wael Mohya linked with Leipzig move from Borussia Monchengladbach

Wael Mohya, the German-Moroccan attacking midfielder at Borussia Monchengladbach, has been linked with a move to fellow Bundesliga club Leipzig.

Mohya is 17 and has established a first-team role at Monchengladbach after progressing through the club’s youth system. He moved from the under-19 side into the senior squad in July 2025.

The teenager has made seven Bundesliga appearances this season, scoring twice and providing one assist. He also scored in his only DFB-Pokal appearance, giving him three goals across the two competitions.

Mohya’s current market value is listed at €17m, a figure that reflects his emergence in German football. He was part of the Monchengladbach under-17 side that won the German Under-17 Bundesliga title in the 2024-25 season.

The reported link with Leipzig would represent a move between Bundesliga clubs for a player who is already featuring regularly at senior level despite his age. No transfer fee or agreement has been reported, and the move remains a rumour.

Mohya, who can use either foot, is currently playing as an attacking midfielder for Borussia Monchengladbach.
