Theo Chennahi signs Montpellier deal through 2030 as Arone Gadou extends with Stade de Reims

Montpellier Herault midfielder Theo Chennahi has signed a new contract with his boyhood club, extending his stay until 2030.

The 21-year-old Franco-Algerian has had his rapid progress recognised after making four appearances for the first team during the 2024/25 season. He then became an important part of Zoumana Camara’s plans in the following campaign, featuring in 32 Ligue 2 matches.

His performances earned him the award for Montpellier’s player of the season, as voted for by the club’s supporters.

Chennahi signed his first professional contract at the end of May 2025 and agreed an initial extension on 13 January. The latest deal keeps him at Montpellier Herault until 2030.

Meanwhile, Stade de Reims forward Arone Gadou has agreed a contract extension until 2029, with the option of a further season, according to Le Parisien.

The young Franco-Ivorian scored his first professional goal in Stade de Reims’ 4-2 victory over Dijon on Friday, 16 October, at Stade Auguste-Delaune.

Gadou has made six substitute appearances at the start of the Ligue 2 season and recorded his highest total of playing time in the most recent round of matches.

His progress has coincided with a strong run of results for Stade de Reims, who currently sit third in the table.
