Goncalo Ramos says he is “very happy” at Milan after leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer in search of a more prominent role and greater regular playing time.
The Portugal forward had been close to guaranteed trophies during his time in Paris, but Milan offered him the chance to become a key player and start more regularly. With the exception of a small number of Europa League appearances, Ramos says those expectations have largely been met.
Speaking on Portugal’s Canal 11, the Milan player described his early experience with the club as a positive one.
“I’m happy with my life, and the atmosphere is calm,” Ramos said. “I’ve been given more playing time, and I’m playing for a club that gives me more room to express myself.
“We love to play. I’ve also been getting more playing time with the national team, which is equally important and provides a different platform. That makes me proud.”
Ramos also explained how his move to Milan came about, recalling the discussions that took place during the World Cup.
“During the World Cup, I was in constant contact with Jorge Mendes, and that’s when Milan’s interest emerged,” he said.
“Coach Amorim also came to Milan and called me. One morning, Jorge Mendes called me to tell me the deal was done.”
