After a lengthy winter break, South Africa will return to international cricket with a T20 International tri-series against Namibia and Zimbabwe in Windhoek, followed by the first-ever 50-over series between South Africa and Namibia.
DP World Lions spinner Bjorn Fortuin will captain the Proteas during the tri-series, which will take place from 28 August to 6 September at the Namibia Cricket Ground.
The squad will then remain in Namibia’s capital for a three-match One-Day International series against the hosts from 9 to 13 September.
Titans all-rounder Duan Jansen has been included in the national squad for the first time after making an impression in domestic cricket. His Momentum Multiply Titans team-mate Eathan Bosch is also uncapped at T20I level.
The ODI squad includes first call-ups for Lions batter Connor Esterhuizen, Dafabet Warriors batter Jordan Hermann and Hollywoodbets Dolphins seamer Nqobani Mokoena.
South Africa’s group is also strengthened by the presence of nationally contracted players Dewald Brevis, Tony de Zorzi and Kwena Maphaka.
The Proteas are scheduled to leave for Windhoek from OR Tambo International Airport on 25 August.

T20I tri-series
The opening match will see Namibia play South Africa at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek on Friday, 28 August, with the game starting at 14:00.
South Africa will face Zimbabwe at the same venue on Saturday, 29 August, also at 14:00. Namibia and Zimbabwe will meet on Monday, 31 August.
South Africa’s next fixture is against Zimbabwe on Tuesday, 1 September, before Namibia and Zimbabwe play again on Thursday, 3 September.
The Proteas will face Namibia for a second time in the group stage on Friday, 4 September. The final is scheduled for Sunday, 6 September, although the two participating teams are still to be confirmed.
All of the tri-series matches will be played at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek.
ODI series against Namibia
South Africa’s three-match ODI series against Namibia will begin on Wednesday, 9 September, at 09:30. Namibia will be the designated home side for the opening match.
The second ODI is scheduled for Friday, 11 September, with the final match taking place on Sunday, 13 September. Both games will also start at 09:30 and will be held at the Namibia Cricket Ground.
The series will be the first-ever 50-over series between South Africa and Namibia.
Meanwhile, South Africa A will host Bangladesh A in a two-match four-day series from 23 August to 2 September. The sides will then play a three-match one-day series between 6 and 12 September.
