Tanzanian giants Simba SC have started reshaping their squad ahead of the new Premier League season after confirming the departure of seven players, including goalkeeper Moussa Pinpin Camara.
The club announced the exits through their official social media platforms as they begin preparations for a campaign aimed at ending their five-year wait for the league title.
Simba finished second in the Tanzanian Premier League last season and have now decided to make changes to their squad as they look to improve their competitiveness both domestically and on the continental stage.
Among the players leaving is Camara, whose departure has attracted significant attention from supporters because of his impressive first season at the club.
The goalkeeper was named the league’s best shot-stopper during his debut campaign with Simba after recording 19 clean sheets in 27 matches.
His performances quickly made him a favourite among fans, who had hoped he would extend his stay with the club.
However, injuries affected his involvement during the 2025-26 season, limiting his opportunities and eventually contributing to the decision for the two parties to go their separate ways.
Simba confirmed the departure of Camara alongside six other players as part of the club’s plans to refresh their squad.
The players leaving the Tanzanian side are:
Chamou Karaboue
Naby Camara
Edwin Balua
Joshua Mutale
Awesu Awesu
Omari Omari
Moussa Camara
The announcement signals a major period of transition for Simba, who are among Tanzania’s biggest football clubs and regularly compete for domestic honours.
The club’s decision comes after another season without the league championship, with Simba determined to build a stronger team capable of challenging for trophies in the upcoming campaign.
Camara’s exit is particularly notable because of the impact he made when he first arrived. His outstanding performances between the posts helped establish him as one of the league’s top goalkeepers and raised expectations among Simba supporters.
Despite his reduced role last season, his contribution during his first campaign remains one of the highlights of his time in Tanzania.
The club is now expected to focus on recruitment and strengthening key areas of the squad as they prepare for the new season.
