Senegal’s Assane Diao shines as Como 1907 thrash Pisa SC

Assane Diao delivered an impressive individual performance as Como 1907 secured a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Pisa SC on Sunday, in a match that highlighted both his attacking quality and growing influence within the team.

The Senegalese forward made an immediate impact, opening the scoring in just the seventh minute with a composed finish that set Como on course for a dominant display. His early goal established the tempo of the match and placed Pisa under pressure from the outset.

Como maintained control throughout the encounter, producing a fluid attacking performance that consistently exposed weaknesses in the opposition’s defence. Diao remained central to their approach, combining sharp movement with decisive execution to trouble Pisa’s back line.

His contribution extended beyond scoring, as he provided an assist in the 29th minute to help double his side’s advantage. Setting up Tasos Douvikas, Diao played a key role in a well-worked attacking move that further demonstrated Como’s cohesion in the final third.

By the interval, Como were firmly in control, and they continued to assert their dominance after the break. Martin Baturina added a third goal shortly after halftime, reinforcing the gap between the two sides and effectively ending any hopes of a comeback for Pisa.

The attacking momentum did not slow, with Nico Paz and Maximo Perrone both finding the net later in the match to complete the rout. The additional goals reflected Como’s sustained pressure and ability to capitalise on opportunities as they arose.
