Senegal pocket $3.3m from March friendlies

Senegal Football Federation generated more than $3.3 million from their March international friendlies, underlining the growing commercial strength of Lions of Teranga.

The revenue, driven largely by ticket sales, came from matches against Gambia and Peru. Senegal claimed convincing victories in both fixtures, beating Gambia 3-1 before following up with a 2-0 win over Peru.

According to federation president Abdoulaye Fall, the international window proved to be a major financial success, with one of the matches alone generating close to $1.6 million.

The figures highlight the increasing appeal of Senegal’s national team, whose strong performances in recent years have boosted both sporting credibility and commercial value.

Beyond the results on the pitch, the turnout reflects growing fan engagement and the ability of African national teams to generate significant matchday revenue when fixtures are well organised.

Senegal’s double victory also ensured the financial success was matched by sporting performance, maintaining momentum ahead of future competitive fixtures.
