Santi Comesana says Real Madrid players ‘were devouring the referee alive’

Villarreal midfielder Santi Comesana criticised the behaviour of Real Madrid’s players after their 1-0 victory over his side in the eighth round of La Liga, saying they “were devouring the referee alive”.

Real Madrid secured all three points in a closely fought match, despite finishing with 10 players after Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior was sent off.

The result moved Real Madrid to 18 points, leaving the club fourth in the La Liga table.
