Sankhoun Diawara, the France- and Senegal-eligible centre-back currently at Troyes, is being linked with a move to Serie A side AC Milan. The Italian club are monitoring the 20-year-old left-footed defender as they assess options to strengthen the heart of their back line ahead of the new season.
Diawara, who was born in Paris in January 2006, is under contract at Troyes until 30 June 2027, meaning the French club are in a strong position in any negotiations. He is currently valued at around €2 million, a figure that is expected to form the starting point for any discussions over a transfer fee if Milan decide to formalise their interest.
Standing at 1.90m, Diawara has broken into the Troyes first team after progressing through the club’s youth system, having joined their U17s in 2021 and stepping up from the B team to the senior side in July 2025. He has already featured in Ligue 2, making 14 appearances and registering one assist, as well as gaining further experience in domestic cup and lower-division action.
Troyes have relied on their academy in recent seasons, and Diawara’s rapid rise from the youth ranks to regular minutes in Ligue 2 has attracted attention beyond France. Milan are tracking his development as they weigh up whether to move for a defender who is still at an early stage of his professional career but already established in the Troyes senior squad.
For now, Diawara remains a Troyes player with just under a year gone on a two-year senior contract and no agreement in place over a move to Italy.
