Real Madrid TV criticised LaLiga President Javier Tebas during the opening segment of its pre-match programme before Real Madrid’s game against Sevilla, questioning his influence over referee appointments and decisions.
The channel also challenged Tebas’ continued involvement in Spanish football after what it described as “absurd” and “ridiculous” incidents in recent days.
Host: “This is the Hoy Jugamos programme, and it is 6:06 PM. If you want to know what is happening, you can check his social media account, as that is the LaLiga president’s preferred method of communication.
“After those absurd events a few days ago, Javier Tebas still has not resigned. But that is to be expected, isn’t it? The person who holds both the position of LaLiga President and that of Spanish Football Federation Vice President has not resigned after those ridiculous incidents a few days ago.”
The presenter then introduced Miguel Angel, who argued that Tebas effectively holds authority over both organisations.
Miguel Angel: “Ultimately, it is all the same thing because, unfortunately, he is the highest authority in Spanish football. He holds two positions: one as LaLiga President and the other as Vice President of the Spanish Football Federation.
“However, judging by what the Federation does and everything that happens there, we all know that Tebas himself is really in control of the Federation. So it is indeed very dangerous.”
Real Madrid TV then referred to a previous question from Mourinho at a press conference: “Is Negreira still here or not?”
The programme claimed that, although Negreira had gone, Tebas remained influential across both LaLiga and the Spanish Football Federation.
“Negreira is gone, but Tebas is still here,” Miguel Angel said. “LaLiga has Tebas, and the Spanish Football Federation also has Tebas. Therefore, whether it is referee appointments or referee decisions in Real Madrid or Barcelona matches, it will all be related to him.”
