The chairman of Ismaily Club has rejected reports suggesting the club’s board is preparing to step down, insisting that the leadership remains intact and focused on navigating a difficult period.
Mohamed Raouf moved to quell speculation after claims emerged that the club’s board of directors could submit a collective resignation in the coming days. The reports had sparked concern among supporters, particularly as the team continues to battle at the foot of the league standings.
Speaking to Kora Plus, Raouf firmly denied the claims, emphasising unity within the club’s leadership structure. He said: “the committee managing Ismaily Club is present and we are all united and there is no intention to submit a collective resignation.”
His remarks appear aimed at restoring calm during a tense period for the Ismailia-based side, which has faced mounting pressure due to its on-field performance.
Calls for unity in challenging period
Raouf went further to dismiss the circulating reports as entirely unfounded, urging supporters and stakeholders to rally behind the club rather than be distracted by speculation. He stressed that the rumours were baseless and reiterated the importance of solidarity at a critical moment in the season.
According to Raouf, this is a time when collective support from the wider Ismailia community is essential, as the club seeks to improve its fortunes and avoid further setbacks.
Mixed results offer slight relief
On the pitch, Ismaily has shown modest signs of improvement in recent fixtures, collecting four points from their last two matches. The team secured a narrow victory over Petrojet with a single goal, before playing out a goalless draw against El Mahalla.
While these results have provided a slight boost, they have not been sufficient to lift the club off the bottom of the table. Ismaily currently remains in last place with 18 points, underlining the scale of the challenge facing both players and management.
Pressure remains despite board stability
Despite Raouf’s reassurances regarding the board’s stability, the club’s precarious league position continues to raise concerns about its immediate future. With the season progressing, the pressure to secure consistent results is likely to intensify.
The chairman’s intervention highlights a broader effort to stabilise the club off the field, ensuring that administrative uncertainty does not further impact performances on it.
Leadership stands firm as focus shifts to survival
For now, Ismaily’s leadership appears determined to project unity and continuity, rejecting any suggestion of upheaval at board level. Raouf’s comments underline a clear stance: the club’s management remains committed to its responsibilities, despite the challenges it faces.
Attention will now turn to whether that stability can translate into improved performances, as Ismaily fights to climb out of the relegation zone and restore confidence among its supporters.
