Rangers have identified Senegalese-born striker Ibrahima Baldé as one of their main targets as they look to strengthen their attack before the transfer window closes.
The 23-year-old has made an impressive start to the Ligue 2 season, scoring four goals in his opening three league appearances.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Scottish club are keen to add another centre-forward and have placed Baldé high on their list of potential targets.
Baldé enjoying strong start
Baldé joined Rodez in July 2024 after developing in the academy of RC Lens.
Since moving to the French club, the striker has gradually established himself as an important attacking player.
He has now scored 24 goals in 68 appearances for Rodez, highlighting his growing consistency in front of goal.
His latest run of form has further increased interest, with four goals in his first three league matches putting him firmly on Rangers’ radar.
Rangers still want another striker
Rangers have already strengthened their attacking options with the signing of Kim Min-su, but the Scottish club are understood to be looking for another centre-forward.
Baldé is reportedly one of their preferred candidates for the position.
However, Rangers have not yet submitted an official offer to Rodez.
That leaves the situation uncertain with the transfer deadline approaching and the Scottish side potentially having limited time to turn their interest into a formal proposal.

Baldé remains under contract with Rodez until 2028, giving the French club significant leverage in any negotiations.
