Raja fans issue fiery rallying cry before champions league final

Supporters of AS FAR have issued an emotional and highly charged statement ahead of the club’s decisive second-leg clash against Mamelodi Sundowns in the final of the CAF Champions League.

The message, released by the Ultras Askary supporters’ group, called on players and fans alike to unite behind the Moroccan side as they attempt to overturn a first-leg deficit and secure continental glory.

The final second leg will be played on Sunday in Rabat, where the Moroccan club hope home support can help inspire a comeback after losing 1-0 in Pretoria.

AS FAR, widely known among supporters as the “Leader”, are seeking to reclaim a continental title that Moroccan clubs have struggled to secure in recent years.

Ahead of the match, the supporters’ group urged fans to create an atmosphere worthy of the occasion and insisted that complete focus must remain on backing the team during what they described as a historic moment.

The statement stressed that the upcoming match represents the final step towards achieving continental success and writing a new chapter in the club’s history.

Supporters also appealed for unity within the fanbase, asking followers to put aside disagreements and distractions in favour of unconditional support for the players and coaching staff.

According to the group, loyalty to the club and its history should take priority over all other discussions as the team prepares for one of the biggest matches in its recent history.

The statement read: “The first half ended there in Pretoria, and today we are one step away from the anticipated glory. With the strength of men and the determination of soldiers from all walks of life, we want it to be an epic that will be written in the ink of pride and honor, for one goal, which is to win the title and complete what we started.”

The message continued with another appeal for solidarity among supporters ahead of Sunday’s decisive encounter.

It added: “We will have to leave all discussion on the sidelines, so that the response remains in the stands and the field, because loyalty to this entity is greater than all attempts to disrupt it, this entity that has withstood various blows with its generations. Its identity requires it to rise to the challenge to win any bet. All support to the military battalion without exception, and our appointment is on Sunday to write history.”

The statement quickly generated a strong reaction among supporters and the wider sporting community in Morocco, reflecting the growing anticipation surrounding the final.

The atmosphere in Rabat is expected to be intense, with fans preparing for a night that many hope will end with the club lifting Africa’s most prestigious club trophy.

Large crowds are anticipated inside the stadium, where supporters are expected to play a major role in motivating the team and increasing pressure on the South African visitors.

For AS FAR, the challenge remains significant after the narrow defeat in the first leg, but confidence appears to be growing that the home crowd can help shift momentum in the return fixture.

The match has become more than just a football contest for many supporters, symbolising pride, identity and the ambition to restore Moroccan clubs to the summit of African football.

Sunday’s final in Rabat will now determine whether the military side can complete their comeback and transform the passionate calls from the stands into continental success.
