PSG face Troyes as Ligue 1 leaders look to extend winning run

Paris Saint-Germain will host Troyes at the Parc des Princes on Saturday, 7 November, with the Ligue 1 leaders heavy favourites to claim another victory in the 10th round of the French top flight.

PSG have collected 20 points from their opening nine matches, winning six, drawing two and losing one. They have scored 21 goals and conceded 10, giving them a goal difference of +11.

The Paris side have been in particularly strong attacking form in their most recent fixtures. They beat Villarreal 6-0 and Le Havre 5-1, while also putting together a run of 10 consecutive matches without dropping points in all competitions. PSG have won each of their past 10 games.

Across their last 20 matches, PSG have recorded 13 victories, three draws and four defeats. Those results represent a winning percentage of 65%, with draws accounting for 15% and losses for 20%.

Troyes arrive in 16th place with eight points from nine games. They have won two matches, drawn two and lost five, scoring seven goals and conceding 16 for a goal difference of -1.

The visitors’ record over their past 20 matches stands at nine wins, five draws and six defeats. That equates to a 45% win rate, while 25% of those games ended level and 30% were losses.

Troyes have shown inconsistent form and have found it difficult to compete with teams near the top of the table. Their scoring average in the league is 0.78 goals per game, compared with 2.33 for PSG.

The defensive figures also favour the hosts. PSG have conceded an average of 1.11 goals per match in the opening nine rounds, while Troyes have allowed 1.78.

With PSG leading the standings and Troyes positioned close to the bottom, the sides arrive at the Parc des Princes in contrasting circumstances. The home team also holds a significant advantage in recent results, overall quality and attacking output.

The forecast is for a PSG victory by at least two goals, with the recommended outcome being a win for the hosts with a -1.5 handicap.
