Paris FC intend to retain Adama Camara for the season ahead despite interest from RC Lens, with talks over a possible contract extension reportedly having already been discussed between the player and the Parisian club.
The 29-year-old defensive midfielder is considered one of the important members of the Paris FC squad and currently appears likely to remain with the club. According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, discussions regarding a new deal have been raised, underlining Paris FC’s desire to keep the France-born Mali international as part of their plans.
Paris FC’s management are prioritising stability as they prepare for the future. Rather than accepting interest from RC Lens or other potential suitors, the club would prefer to maintain the core of its squad and retain its established players.
The club’s position presents a setback for RC Lens, who are looking to strengthen their midfield. The northern French side had identified Camara as a possible option, but the player’s expected continuation with Paris FC means that pursuit now appears increasingly difficult. RC Lens will probably have to explore alternative targets during the transfer market.
Camara is not short of admirers. Foot Mercato reports that OGC Nice and PSV Eindhoven are also monitoring the midfielder, while several clubs from the Gulf region have shown interest as well. Al Jazira is among those clubs linked with a move for the player.
Despite that competition for his signature, Paris FC are determined to keep Camara and are continuing to build an ambitious squad around their key players. The club’s approach reflects its preference for continuity as it seeks to assemble a competitive team for Ligue 1.
Camara remains under contract with Paris FC until 30 June 2027. His current market value is estimated at €3m by Transfermarkt, a figure that provides context to the interest from RC Lens, OGC Nice, PSV Eindhoven and clubs in the Gulf.
For Paris FC, retaining the midfielder would represent a statement of intent as the club works to strengthen its squad without losing important members of its existing group. For RC Lens, however, the likelihood of Camara staying in Paris means the search for midfield reinforcements is likely to continue elsewhere.
