Omar Marmoush set to join Tottenham from Manchester City in loan deal

Omar Marmoush is set to move from Manchester City to Tottenham on an initial loan, with the agreement including a conditional purchase clause that could turn the Egyptian international’s switch into a permanent transfer.

The overall value of the deal is expected to range between €58m and €64m, including bonuses. That figure is approximately £50m, with the final amount dependent on the sporting objectives attached to the purchase clause.

Marmoush has already agreed personal terms with Tottenham, clearing a significant stage in the proposed move. The forward is now expected to complete his medical examination within the next 48 hours before the transfer can be formally concluded.

If the medical tests are successfully completed, Marmoush will sign the official documents required to join the squad managed by Roberto De Zerbi.

The agreement also contains a long-term commitment. Once the purchase option is automatically activated, Marmoush would be tied to the London club until June 2031.

That means the transfer is structured in two phases: an initial loan from Manchester City followed by a permanent move if the specified sporting targets are met. The bonuses are included in the wider valuation of the operation, which could reach €64m.

The final steps are now imminent, with the medical scheduled to take place before the player completes the paperwork for his move to Tottenham. Until those formalities are completed, the deal remains subject to the successful outcome of the examination and the signing of the relevant documents.

Marmoush’s personal agreement with Spurs means the main outstanding requirements are procedural. The medical will be followed by the official signing process, after which he can formally become part of De Zerbi’s Tottenham squad.

The proposed arrangement gives Manchester City an initial loan solution while allowing Tottenham the possibility of securing Marmoush on a long-term basis. The purchase clause is linked to clearly defined sporting objectives, rather than being presented as an immediate permanent transfer.

Should those conditions be fulfilled and the option become automatic, the Egyptian forward’s contract with Tottenham would run through June 2031. The deal’s total financial value, including performance-related bonuses, has been placed between €58m and €64m.

For now, the focus is on the next 48 hours and the completion of Marmoush’s medical. His transfer will then move into its final administrative stage, with the official documents to be signed before he joins the Tottenham squad under De Zerbi.
