Olakunle Olusegun: Nigerian winger at Krasnodar linked with move to Rostov

Nigerian winger Olakunle Olusegun of Krasnodar is attracting interest from Russian Premier League rivals Rostov, who are exploring a move for the 24-year-old left-sided attacker.

Olusegun, contracted to Krasnodar until 30 June 2028, is understood to be on Rostov’s shortlist as they look to strengthen their wide options ahead of the new campaign. Any deal is likely to be complicated by his long-term agreement with Krasnodar and his current valuation of around €2.5 million.

The Ilorin-born winger has been a regular presence in the Russian top flight, making more than 100 Premier Liga appearances and reaching double figures for both goals and assists. His performances contributed to Krasnodar’s league title win in 2025, further enhancing his status within the club’s squad.

Olusegun first joined Krasnodar in 2022 from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv in a deal worth €1.2 million, having previously spent time with Krasnodar’s second team on loan. Last season he was temporarily allowed to leave on loan to fellow Premier Liga side Pari NN before returning to Krasnodar at the end of the campaign.

Rostov’s interest comes at a time when Olusegun has established himself firmly in Russian football, with significant top-flight experience and exposure to domestic cup competitions. However, with Krasnodar having invested in his development and secured him on a long-term contract, the club are under no pressure to sell, leaving Rostov to assess whether they can meet the demands required to prise him away.
