Muriqi breaks Eto’o record to make Mallorca history

Vedat Muriqi has etched his name into the history books of RCD Mallorca after surpassing club legend Samuel Eto’o to become their all-time top scorer in La Liga.

The landmark moment came on matchday 31, when Muriqi netted twice against Rayo Vallecano, taking his league tally to 55 goals for Mallorca.

That achievement sees him move past Eto’o’s long-standing record of 54 La Liga goals a mark that had stood unchallenged for 22 years.

Eto’o’s Legacy Still Stands Tall

Eto’o’s time at Mallorca remains one of the most defining periods in the club’s history. The Cameroonian forward initially joined on loan from Real Madrid in 2000 before making the move permanent.

Across four seasons, he scored 64 goals in all competitions, establishing himself as one of La Liga’s most feared strikers before going on to achieve global success with FC Barcelona and Inter Milan.

Muriqi’s Rise to the Top

While Eto’o’s legacy remains untouchable in many respects, Muriqi’s consistency in recent seasons has now rewritten the club’s La Liga record books.

The Kosovo international has become a central figure in Mallorca’s attack, delivering crucial goals and leading the line with authority.

His latest brace not only secured an important result but also confirmed his place as the club’s most prolific scorer in Spain’s top flight.

A New Chapter for Mallorca

Muriqi’s achievement marks the end of one historic chapter and the beginning of another for Mallorca.

With the record now in his hands, attention will turn to how far he can extend his tally as the season progresses, with fans eager to see just how high the new benchmark will rise.
