Pathé Ismaël Ciss came to the rescue for Rayo Vallecano, scoring a stoppage-time equalizer to snatch a 1-1 draw against Levante in their rescheduled La Liga Matchday 28 clash on Thursday night.
The Madrid side had a nightmare start, conceding in the 41st minute and then losing Nobel Mendy to a red card in the 56th, leaving Rayo a man down. Facing intense pressure, they battled valiantly, refusing to surrender.
Their perseverance paid off in the 94th minute when Ciss struck to rescue a crucial point, marking his second La Liga goal of the season. His previous strike came in Rayo Vallecano’s 3-1 defeat to Osasuna on January 24.
Ciss’s late heroics ensured Rayo Vallecano avoided defeat and gave the team a morale boost as they look to climb the La Liga standings.
