Egypt forward Mostafa Mohamed, currently at FC Nantes, is being linked with a move to Pyramids FC in the Egyptian Premier League as the 28-year-old approaches the final year of his contract in France.
The centre-forward, who was born in Giza and plays primarily through the middle, is under contract at Nantes until 30 June 2027 but is understood to be attracting interest from Pyramids as they look to add proven attacking pedigree from Europe’s major leagues. Mohamed’s current market valuation stands at around €3.5m, a figure that is likely to frame any negotiation between the Ligue 2 side and the Cairo club.
Mohamed joined Nantes on a permanent deal from Galatasaray in July 2023, having initially impressed on loan. In France’s top flight he has made 119 league appearances, scoring 25 goals and providing six assists, experience that would represent a significant addition for an ambitious club in Egypt’s domestic competition.
Before moving to Europe, Mohamed built his reputation with Zamalek and on the continental stage. He was part of the Egypt side that finished runners-up at the 2021-22 Africa Cup of Nations and previously won the CAF Super Cup with Zamalek, further underlining his pedigree in African competitions.
Pyramids’ interest also comes against the backdrop of Mohamed’s proven scoring record in Turkey’s Super Lig, where he struck 15 goals in 43 appearances for Galatasaray, offering a blend of domestic and international experience that is relatively rare among Egyptian forwards currently playing at home.
Nantes, who signed Mohamed for a reported €5.75m fee in 2023, are not under immediate pressure to sell given the length of his deal, leaving any potential transfer likely to hinge on whether Pyramids are prepared to meet the French club’s valuation.
