Mohamed Salah’s sister has paid an emotional tribute to the Egyptian captain after his high-profile move to Turkish side Trabzonspor and the remarkable reception he received from the club’s supporters.
Rababa Salah responded to the unveiling by sharing a message on social media that reflected on her brother’s journey from his early days in football to becoming one of Egypt’s most celebrated players.
The Egypt international has joined Trabzonspor on a free transfer, signing a two-year contract as he begins a new chapter in his career following his departure from Liverpool.

Rababa also added a light-hearted remark after the transfer was completed, saying she would return to watching Turkish television dramas following her brother’s move to the country.
Salah’s switch to Trabzonspor follows an accomplished career in European football that began after his emergence in Egypt.
He started his senior career with Al Mokawloon Al Arab before earning a move to Swiss side Basel in the summer of 2012. His performances there opened the door to the English Premier League, where he joined Chelsea in January 2013.
The forward later rebuilt his career in Italy, enjoying spells with Fiorentina and Roma before returning to England in 2017 to sign for Liverpool.
During his time at Anfield, Salah established himself as one of the club’s most influential players. He helped Liverpool win the UEFA Champions League in 2019 and also played a key role in securing two Premier League titles before leaving the club in May.
