Bryan Mbeumo has completed an impressive first season with Manchester United after finishing as the club’s leading scorer in league competition.
The Cameroonian forward ended the campaign with 11 goals in 33 matches, establishing himself as one of the central figures in United’s attack during his debut year at Old Trafford.
Mbeumo capped his season with another goal in Manchester United’s away victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
The striker scored the visitors’ second goal in the 44th minute after being set up by Amad Diallo, whose pass allowed Mbeumo to finish just before half-time.
The goal further highlighted the consistency shown by the Cameroon international throughout the campaign.
Mbeumo finished the season with 11 league goals and three assists, narrowly edging out Benjamin Sesko in the race to become Manchester United’s top scorer. Sesko also recorded 11 goals but contributed only one assist.
Across all competitions, Mbeumo registered 12 goals and three assists in 34 appearances, including one goal in the League Cup.
The forward’s performances have quickly established him as an important player in Manchester United’s attacking setup following his arrival last summer.
His impact has also continued a trend of consistent goalscoring form that began before his move to Old Trafford.
Last season, while playing for Brentford FC, Mbeumo finished as the club’s leading scorer in the Premier League with 20 goals.
The current campaign therefore marks the second consecutive season in which he has ended as his club’s top scorer in league competition.
It is also the second straight year the forward has surpassed the 10-goal mark in the Premier League, underlining his growing reputation as a reliable attacking presence.
Mbeumo’s ability to adapt quickly to life at Manchester United has been one of the notable aspects of his debut season.
After joining one of England’s biggest clubs, the Cameroonian immediately became a key contributor in attack and consistently delivered goals across the season.
His latest strike against Brighton added another highlight to a campaign that has seen him emerge as one of United’s most productive players in the final third.
The assist from Diallo also reflected the growing understanding between Manchester United’s attacking players as the season progressed.
For Mbeumo, finishing as the club’s top scorer represents an encouraging start to his Manchester United career and reinforces his status as one of Cameroon’s leading footballers.
The forward’s performances are also likely to boost expectations ahead of next season, with supporters hoping he can continue the scoring form that has now produced back-to-back double-digit Premier League campaigns.
