Guinea-Bissau and Portugal winger Mauro Rodrigues has joined Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv from Swiss club Yverdon Sport in a completed move to the efbet Liga.
The 25-year-old right winger, who was born in Funchal and stands at 1.78m, arrives in Plovdiv after spending the last four seasons on the books of Yverdon, including a recent loan spell with FC Oleksandriya in Ukraine. He moves with a current market valuation of €250,000.
Rodrigues is predominantly a right-sided attacker and prefers his right foot, adding a natural wide option to Botev’s forward line. He links up with the Bulgarian top-flight club ahead of the 2026-27 efbet Liga campaign, having yet to feature in the league this season.
The move ends a successful chapter in Switzerland for Rodrigues, who became Swiss second-tier champion with Yverdon Sport in the 2022-23 season. He originally joined Yverdon from FC Sion in 2022, after progressing through Sion’s youth structure from the under-18s to the first team.
In February 2026, Rodrigues temporarily left Yverdon for Oleksandriya on loan before returning to the Swiss side at the end of that season. His switch to Botev Plovdiv now gives him a first opportunity in Bulgarian football, following experience in both the Swiss and Ukrainian leagues.
Rodrigues officially completed his transfer to Botev Plovdiv on 20 July 2026.
