German-Nigerian goalkeeper Noah Atubolu is being linked with a move from Freiburg to Marseille, with the Ligue 1 club identified as a potential destination for the 24-year-old.
Atubolu has been with Freiburg since joining the club’s senior set-up from Freiburg II in July 2021. He began his development in the club’s academy and was part of the Freiburg side that finished runners-up in the German Cup in 2021-22.
The goalkeeper’s current contract runs until 30 June 2027, meaning Freiburg are not facing an immediate expiry decision over his future. His market value is listed at €25m, a figure that could provide an indication of the level at which the Bundesliga club may assess any approach.
Atubolu was born in Freiburg im Breisgau and has spent his entire club career with Freiburg, progressing through the under-17 and under-19 teams before moving to the reserve side. He also won the Fritz Walter Bronze Medal with Germany in 2023.
The potential move would take him from the Bundesliga to Ligue 1, although the transfer remains at the rumour stage and no fee or agreement has been reported. Atubolu remains a Freiburg player under contract through June 2027.
