Manchester United monitoring Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde ahead of January window

Manchester United are considering a move for Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde, according to football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

The Premier League club are expected to target two defenders during the winter transfer window, with a central defender and a left-back both on their recruitment list. Balde is one of the players being assessed as a potential signing.

Barcelona are prepared to sell the Spain international, but Balde is not currently keen to leave Catalonia.

The 23-year-old has made only one appearance in La Liga this season and has not recorded a goal or assist.

Balde’s market value is estimated at 40m euros by Transfermarkt.
