Manchester City are considering a move for Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye, with the Premier League champions exploring a potential deal for the Senegal international.
City are understood to be attracted by Ndiaye’s versatility and attacking qualities and could make an approach for the 25-year-old.
However, Everton are unlikely to sanction the departure of one of their key players without receiving a significant fee.
Everton demand substantial fee
According to Ben Jacobs, Everton have set their asking price for Ndiaye at around £80 million, approximately €93 million.
The figure could potentially be negotiated if the two clubs reach an agreement over the structure of the deal.
Ndiaye remains under contract at Everton until 30 June 2029, putting the Merseyside club in a strong negotiating position.
His current market value is estimated at €55 million by Transfermarkt, meaning City would potentially have to pay considerably above that valuation to secure his services.
Grealish could enter negotiations
One factor that could influence discussions is Jack Grealish.
The England international is reportedly keen on a move to Everton, raising the possibility of his transfer to Goodison Park being incorporated into broader negotiations involving Ndiaye.
A player exchange or a deal involving both players could therefore provide an alternative structure to a straightforward cash transfer.
Grealish has attracted considerable interest during the summer, while Ndiaye has also emerged as a target for clubs outside England.
According to Africafoot, Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal have already approached the Senegalese forward.
Ndiaye’s future in focus
Ndiaye earns around €2.8 million per year at Everton, underlining the financial commitment that would be required from any club attempting to sign him.
For Manchester City, acquiring the Senegal international would represent a major investment, particularly given Everton’s reported £80m valuation and the length of his contract.
The possibility of Grealish moving in the opposite direction could nevertheless provide an interesting avenue for negotiations as City assess whether to turn their interest into a formal proposal.
For now, Ndiaye remains an Everton player, with his future likely to depend on whether Manchester City are prepared to meet the substantial price attached to one of the club’s most important attacking players.
