Morocco youth international Safouane Benzahra is on course to sign his first professional contract with AS Monaco after making an early breakthrough into the club’s first team.
The 18-year-old has impressed during his first senior campaign, earning opportunities in European competition and Ligue 1 as Monaco continue to monitor the progress of their academy prospects.
According to L’Equipe, Monaco are preparing professional contracts for several young players, with Benzahra among those set to make the step up.
Benzahra has already featured in both of Monaco’s UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying matches this season, gaining valuable experience at senior level despite his age.
He has also made appearances in Ligue 1, strengthening his position within the first-team setup and increasing expectations around his development.
His progress has now placed him on a similar path to academy teammate Melvin Gomes, who is also expected to sign his first professional contract with the club.
Gomes has reportedly attracted interest from Chelsea, but Monaco are keen to secure his future as they continue to invest in their youth structure.
