Malcom has agreed to leave Al Hilal and join newly promoted Al-Diriyah during the current summer transfer window, according to Saudi newspaper Okaz.
The Brazilian winger is expected to move to Al-Diriyah on loan until the end of next season, with Al Hilal now working to settle the player’s financial arrangements before the transfer can be formally completed.
The proposed move follows reports that Al-Diriyah had made Malcom one of its main targets after securing promotion to the Roshn Saudi League. Al Hilal had been open to the idea of allowing the 28-year-old to leave, as the club considers its options regarding the Brazil international.
Malcom had not initially given his final approval for the transfer, despite Al Hilal’s willingness to consider the offer. However, Okaz has now reported that the winger has agreed to join Al-Diriyah for the upcoming season.
The remaining work is understood to involve the financial settlement between Malcom and Al Hilal. The club is attempting to resolve those details, with the deal expected to be officially concluded in the coming hours.
The transfer would bring an end to a three-year spell in which Malcom became one of Al Hilal’s most important attacking players. He joined the club from Russian side Zenit in 2023 and made an immediate impact, particularly during his first season in Saudi Arabia.
That campaign saw Al Hilal win the league title without suffering a defeat. Malcom played a prominent role as the Riyadh club completed an unbeaten league season and strengthened its position among the leading teams in Saudi football.
Across his three seasons with Al Hilal, the Brazilian has helped the club win the Saudi league title once. He has also been part of teams that lifted the King’s Cup twice and the Saudi Super Cup twice.
Al-Diriyah’s interest in Malcom comes after the club’s promotion to the Roshn Saudi League, giving it the opportunity to compete in the top flight during the upcoming campaign. The proposed loan would allow the winger to continue playing in Saudi Arabia while moving to a side preparing for its first season at that level.
For Al Hilal, the agreement would represent a step towards reshaping its squad and reducing its attacking options before the new season. The club’s immediate priority is to complete the financial arrangements with Malcom and confirm the transfer officially.
Until those matters are resolved, the move remains subject to the final completion of the deal. But with the player’s approval now reportedly secured, Malcom’s departure from Al Hilal appears close to being confirmed.
