Luka Modric is much more than an outstanding representative of Croatian football, according to his compatriot Josip Brekalo.
Brekalo, who previously played for Torino and Fiorentina and now represents Hertha Berlin, praised the midfielder in an interview with Gianluca Di Marzio.
“Modric is a treasure of Croatian football,” Brekalo said.
The 26-year-old described Modric as an example for every Croatian footballer, highlighting both his willingness to offer advice and the professionalism he shows every day.
Modric has represented Croatia at the highest level and, since the summer of 2025, has played in the Italian championship for Milan.
