Belgian international Loïs Openda is edging closer to a move to Lyon, with negotiations between the French club and Juventus entering their final stages.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the two clubs are close to agreeing a season-long loan deal that will include an option to buy.
Purchase option still under discussion
The remaining issue in the negotiations is the value of the purchase clause, which is expected to fall between €25 million and €30 million.
Both clubs are working to agree on a figure that reflects Openda’s quality while remaining financially sustainable for Lyon.
Personal terms nearly agreed
An agreement with the Belgian international is also understood to be close, with personal terms largely settled.
As part of the proposed arrangement, Lyon would cover only a portion of Openda’s €7.4 million gross annual salary, helping make the transfer financially viable for both parties.
Juventus set for attacking reshuffle
If talks continue to progress as expected, the deal could be completed early next week.
Openda’s departure would also provide Juventus with greater flexibility to reshape their attacking department during the remainder of the summer transfer window as the club looks to strengthen its squad following a disappointing campaign.
