Liverpool are weighing up a move for Senegal and France youth winger Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain as they explore attacking reinforcements ahead of the new Premier League season. The 18-year-old right-sided forward, currently with PSG’s first team, has been linked with a transfer to Anfield despite having two years left on his contract in Paris, which runs until 30 June 2028.
Mbaye, who was born in Trappes and represents Senegal and France at youth level, is valued at around €30 million and has emerged on recruitment radars after breaking into a star-studded PSG squad. He has already featured on the global stage, making four appearances and scoring once at the 2026 World Cup, underlining his readiness for regular senior football.
The right winger has progressed through PSG’s system since joining from Versailles as a youth player in 2018, moving step by step from the club’s U17s to U19s, then the U23s, before being promoted to the senior side on 1 July 2025. He has been part of back-to-back Ligue 1 title-winning campaigns and was in the squad as PSG lifted the UEFA Champions League in both 2024-25 and 2025-26.
Liverpool’s interest comes at a time when PSG must balance the benefits of keeping one of their most highly regarded academy products against a potentially significant fee. With Mbaye tied to the French champions until 2028, any agreement is expected to hinge on whether Liverpool are prepared to meet PSG’s valuation close to his current €30 million market price.
