Wilfried Zaha has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Libyan Premier League side Al-Ahli Benghazi, with the former Crystal Palace winger available on a free transfer after leaving Galatasaray.
The 33-year-old Ivory Coast international is searching for his next club after his contract with the Turkish side expired at the end of June 2026. However, no agreement with Al-Ahli Benghazi has been confirmed.
Zaha joined Galatasaray in 2023 after ending his long association with Crystal Palace. He scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 43 appearances for the Turkish club across competitions, helping them win the Süper Lig title during the 2023/24 season.
He subsequently spent time on loan at French side Lyon before moving to Major League Soccer outfit Charlotte FC in January 2025.
During his spell in the United States, Zaha made 46 appearances for Charlotte across league matches and the playoffs, scoring 13 goals and registering 14 assists. The club confirmed in May 2026 that he would depart when his loan ended on June 30.
A potential move to Libya would add another destination to a career that has taken Zaha across several leagues.
He came through Crystal Palace’s youth system and enjoyed two spells with the London club, becoming one of its most recognisable players. His career also included a move to Manchester United in 2013, a loan spell at Cardiff City and time in France and Turkey.
Zaha made 305 Premier League appearances, scoring 68 goals and providing 31 assists, according to the statistics cited in the original report. His experience and attacking ability could make him an attractive addition for a club seeking to strengthen its forward line.
