Lamine Yamal becomes first player in Europe to reach 10 assists this season

Barcelona continued their prolific start to the season by scoring five times against Betis, with Lamine Yamal playing a decisive role in the victory.

The Barcelona teenager opened the scoring himself before creating the third goal early in the second half. His assist allowed Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus to find the net.

That contribution took Yamal to 10 assists for the season, making him the first player in Europe to reach that total in the current campaign.

The figure covers all competitions, rather than only domestic league matches.

Yamal, who is widely regarded as the best player in the world at present, has reached the milestone despite the season having started only recently.
