Kompany aims to end three-match losing run against Arsenal

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany will try to avoid a fourth successive defeat by Arsenal when his side host the Gunners in the third round of the Champions League group stage.

Kompany has faced Arsenal three times during his managerial career and lost every match. The first two meetings came during the 2023/24 Premier League season, when he was in charge of Burnley.

Burnley were beaten 3-1 by Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium before suffering a heavier defeat in the return fixture, losing 5-0 at home.

Kompany then faced Arsenal again after taking charge of Bayern Munich. In the 2024/25 Champions League group stage, Bayern were defeated 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was in charge for all three of those victories.
