JS Kabylie have announced the dismissal of head coach Josef Zinnbauer following a disappointing run of results in the 2025/26 season.
The decision comes after a 1-0 home defeat to JS Saoura, which proved to be the final blow for the German tactician.
In a brief statement, the club confirmed the end of their working relationship with Zinnbauer, bringing his spell in Tizi Ouzou to an abrupt close.
“The JS Kabylie management informs its supporters and the public of the end of its working relationship with coach Josef Zinnbauer,” the club said.
Zinnbauer had only joined the club in the winter of 2025 and initially made a strong impression. He guided the team to an unexpected second-place finish, raising hopes that JS Kabylie could build on that success in the following campaign.
However, those expectations have not been met.
Instead of progressing, the team has struggled across all competitions this season. Performances in the league, domestic cup, and continental fixtures have fallen below the standards expected by supporters and club officials.
Currently sitting 10th in the league table, JS Kabylie have slipped well behind in the race for the top positions, prompting growing frustration among fans.
The defeat to JS Saoura ultimately proved decisive, as the club opted to act swiftly in response to the team’s continued decline.
Zinnbauer’s departure highlights the sharp contrast between last season’s success and the current campaign’s difficulties. What began as a promising project has unraveled in a matter of months, leaving the club searching for stability.
For now, no replacement has been officially named, with the club yet to outline its next steps.
Attention will now turn to who takes over and whether they can revive JS Kabylie’s season, as the club looks to recover from a disappointing run and restore its competitive edge.
