Jamal Sellami set to take charge of Al Fateh in Roshn Saudi League

Jamal Sellami is close to becoming the new head coach of Al Fateh, with only official approval needed before the Moroccan’s move to the Roshn Saudi League can be confirmed.

The club are awaiting the necessary formal authorisations to announce Sellami’s appointment, with the 55-year-old expected to arrive in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to begin work with the team.

His arrival follows an agreement by mutual consent to end Al Fateh’s association with Saudi coach Khaled Al-Atwi. According to Saudi newspaper Al Riyadiyah, Al Fateh appointed Al-Atwi on 21 July, although the length of his contract was not disclosed. The partnership has now come to an early conclusion.

Sellami brings extensive experience from Moroccan and Arab football. He began his coaching career in 2010 as part of the Morocco national team’s technical staff before taking charge of Hassania Agadir, Fath Union Sport and Difaa Hassani El Jadidi.

He also worked with Morocco’s youth national teams, managing the under-17 and under-20 sides. In 2019, Sellami returned to club management with Difaa Hassani El Jadidi before later taking charge of Fath Union Sport.

In 2024, he was appointed manager of the Jordan national team. His time in the role was marked by a significant achievement as Jordan secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

That success strengthened Sellami’s coaching record ahead of a potential new challenge in the Roshn Saudi League. His appointment at Al Fateh will become official once the final procedures are completed and the required approvals have been received.
