Senegal midfielder Idrissa Gueye, currently without a club after leaving Everton this summer, is being linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Diriyah.
The 36-year-old defensive midfielder became a free agent on 1 July 2026 following the end of his latest spell at Goodison Park and is now weighing up interest from the Riyadh-based club. Any deal would not require a transfer fee, with Gueye’s current market valuation standing at around €500,000.
Gueye has just returned from the 2026 World Cup, where he started all four of Senegal’s matches and played the vast majority of minutes, underlining his continued importance at international level. He was part of the Senegal squad that lifted the Africa Cup of Nations title in 2022.
A move to Al-Diriyah would mark the next step in a career that has taken in extended spells in both the Premier League and Ligue 1. Gueye has made 254 appearances in the English top flight and a further 208 in the French top division, along with experience in the Champions League and Europa League.
He previously enjoyed a successful stint with Paris Saint-Germain, winning three Ligue 1 titles and multiple domestic cups, before rejoining Everton in 2022 in a €4m deal. His club future is now open following the expiry of that contract, leaving him free to negotiate directly with Al-Diriyah as the Saudi Pro League side explore a move.
