Algerian midfielder Sofiane Bendebka, currently a free agent after leaving Saudi side Al-Fateh, is being linked with a return to MC Algiers as the Ligue 1 club weigh experienced options for their midfield.
Bendebka, 33, has been without a club since 1 July 2026 following the end of his spell at Al-Fateh, but remains valued at around €700,000 and is understood to be open to a move back to the Algerian top flight. MC Algiers are exploring the possibility of bringing him in on a free as they look to add proven quality in the centre of the pitch ahead of the new campaign.
The El Magharia-born player previously represented MC Algiers between 2017 and 2020, a period that helped earn him a move to Al-Fateh. In Saudi Arabia he became a key figure, making 178 league appearances and contributing 47 goals in the Pro League, underlining his ability to influence games from midfield over a sustained stretch.
Bendebka has also been part of Algeria’s recent success on the international stage, winning the Arab Cup with the national team in the 2020-21 season. That experience, combined with his extensive time abroad, makes him an attractive option for a side looking to blend domestic and international know-how in their squad.
Discussions around a potential deal remain at an exploratory stage, with Bendebka free to negotiate and MC Algiers assessing whether to formalise their interest in the out-of-contract midfielder.
