Habib Diallo, the Senegalese centre-forward currently at FC Metz, is being linked with a move to West Ham as the English club weigh up attacking reinforcements ahead of the new Championship season.
The 31-year-old, who also holds French nationality, is under contract with Metz until 30 June 2028, meaning any deal would require a fee rather than a free transfer. Diallo is currently valued at around €4 million, a figure likely to frame initial discussions over his future, with West Ham exploring options to add experience to their forward line.
Diallo rejoined Metz on 31 August 2025 and has since been a central figure in attack for the Ligue 2 side. Standing at 1.86m and operating as a right-footed centre-forward, he offers a profile that would differ from several of West Ham’s current striking options as the club adapts to life outside the Premier League.
On the international stage, Diallo was part of Senegal’s Africa Cup of Nations-winning campaign in 2022, an achievement that underlines the level of experience he would bring to any prospective move. Domestically, he has already enjoyed success with Metz, having been part of the squad that won the French second tier in the 2018-19 season.
Metz, who rely heavily on Diallo’s contribution in attack, are expected to be reluctant sellers midway through his long-term deal, with no indication yet that negotiations between the clubs have advanced beyond an initial enquiry. For now, Diallo remains tied to Metz until 2028, leaving West Ham to decide whether to test the French side’s resolve with a formal offer.
