Gracien Deseri: Italy-DR Congo right-back departs Novara to enter free agency

Italy-DR Congo defender Gracien Deseri has left Novara and is now a free agent after his contract with the Serie C side came to an end. The 20-year-old right-back has exited the club following the close of the 2025-26 campaign, bringing his spell in Piedmont to a close.

Deseri, who is eligible to represent both Italy and DR Congo at international level, had been on the books at Novara, who compete in Serie C Group A. His departure means he is now available to join a new club outside the constraints of a transfer fee, with his registration no longer held by the Italian outfit.

The full-back is listed with a market value of around €100,000, underlining the regard in which he is held after his development in the Italian system. Still at an early stage of his senior career, he now faces a pivotal moment as he looks for the next step.

Novara have seen a number of young players pass through their ranks in recent seasons, using Serie C as a platform for emerging talents to gain experience in professional football. Deseri’s exit continues that trend, with the defender now seeking a fresh challenge away from the club.

Deseri’s move into free agency is effective from 29 July 2026, confirming his status without a club following his spell with Novara.
