Christian Chivu becomes only third coach to lose first three Milan derbies

Christian Chivu has become only the third manager in history to lose his first three Milan derbies after Inter were beaten by Milan again.

The Romanian has now suffered three defeats against the Rossoneri in meetings between Milan and Inter across all competitions.

Chivu joins Leonardo, who lost two derbies while in charge of Milan and one against Inter between 2009 and 2011, and Massimo Giacomini, who was beaten in all three matches during his spell as Milan manager between 1979 and 1980.

Chivu has been Inter’s coach since the summer of 2025.

In the next round of the Italian championship, Inter will face Como on Sunday, 8 November.
