Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini said the penalty played a decisive role in his side’s defeat by Manchester United.
Gasperini noted that the match followed the same pattern as Roma’s game against Real Madrid.
“The penalty gave the opponent momentum,” said the Roma boss.
Roma’s next Champions League fixture will be against Paris Saint-Germain.
