Ghaith Ouahabi linked with US Monastir move after leaving Esperance

Tunisia midfielder Ghaith Ouahabi, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to US Monastir in the Tunisian Ligue 1.

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder left Esperance on 1 July 2026 after spending the previous season with the club. No transfer fee has been reported for the move, and Ouahabi is now listed as a free agent ahead of a potential return to Tunisia’s top flight.

Ouahabi was part of the Esperance squad that won the Tunisian Cup in 2025-26, adding to the two Tunisian league titles he won with the club in 2021-22 and 2023-24. He began his senior career at Esperance after progressing from the club’s under-21 side.

The midfielder spent part of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Georgian side Dinamo Batumi before returning to Esperance at the end of 2025. His career record includes 24 appearances in the Erovnuli Liga, while he has also featured in the Tunisian Ligue 1, CAF Champions League and African Football League.

Ouahabi’s current market value is estimated at €200,000. A move to US Monastir would keep the Tunisia international-level midfielder in the domestic league, but the reported interest has not yet resulted in a confirmed transfer.
