Galatasaray Set to Welcome Back Ivory Coast Defender Wilfried Singo

Galatasaray defender Wilfried Singo is expected to return to action after the next international break as he continues his recovery from an injury that has disrupted the start of his season.

According to Turkish outlet Milliyet, the Ivory Coast international is nearing a return, with Galatasaray planning to ease him back into first-team football rather than risk an early comeback.

The club is expected to take a cautious approach with the 25-year-old, gradually increasing his involvement once he is deemed ready for competitive action.

Singo has had limited opportunities to establish himself since joining Galatasaray, making just two appearances this season and playing a combined 41 minutes.

His injury, sustained at the beginning of the campaign, has further restricted his involvement and prevented him from building a consistent run of matches with the Istanbul club.

Galatasaray are now using the international break to give the defender additional time to complete his recovery before potentially bringing him back into the squad.

The priority for both player and club is to ensure Singo is fully fit before he resumes competitive football, particularly after his limited involvement so far this season.

A successful return would give Singo an opportunity to rebuild his rhythm and compete for a regular place in the Galatasaray defence.

Meanwhile, the defender has also been mentioned in Turkish media reports concerning possible changes to Galatasaray’s squad during the winter transfer window.

Reports have suggested that the club could consider allowing Singo to leave, alongside İlkay Gündoğan and Kaan Ayhan. However, Galatasaray have not made any official decision confirming those reports, leaving the speculation unsubstantiated for now.

Singo’s immediate focus remains his recovery rather than his future at the club.

If his rehabilitation progresses as expected, he could return after the international break and provide Galatasaray with another defensive option for the remainder of the campaign.

For Singo, getting back on the pitch and establishing a consistent run of appearances will be the first step towards putting a disrupted start to the season behind him.
