Freiburg winger Cyriaque Irie linked with Besiktas move

Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast winger Cyriaque Irie is being linked with a move from Freiburg to Besiktas, with the Turkish club considering a possible transfer for the 21-year-old.

The proposed move is currently assessed at 37%, and there has been no confirmation that an agreement has been reached between the clubs or with the player.

Irie joined Freiburg from French club Troyes on 1 July 2025 in a deal worth €8.5m. His current market value is listed at €8m, placing the reported interest from Besiktas close to the fee Freiburg paid for the right winger.

The left-footed attacker has made 10 Bundesliga appearances for Freiburg, playing 343 minutes. He has also featured four times in the Europa League and once in the DFB-Pokal.

Before moving to Germany, Irie spent one season with Troyes after joining from Dijon for €3m. He made 33 Ligue 2 appearances for Troyes, scoring six goals and providing three assists, while also scoring three times in six Coupe de France appearances.

Irie began his senior career with Real du Faso after coming through RC Abidjan’s under-19 team. He remains a Freiburg player, with Besiktas’ reported interest yet to develop into a confirmed transfer.
