Nigeria goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has joined Omonia 29th May from fellow Cypriot club Omonia Nicosia on a free transfer.
The 27-year-old completed the move on 29 August 2026 and has agreed a contract running until 31 May 2027. Uzoho becomes part of the Omonia 29th May squad in the Cyprus League after leaving a club with which he won the Cypriot championship last season.
Uzoho spent five years at Omonia Nicosia, having arrived from APOEL Nicosia on a free transfer in September 2021. During his time with the club, he won two Cypriot Cups, in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, before helping Omonia Nicosia claim the league title in 2025-26.
The move gives Omonia 29th May an experienced international goalkeeper who has also played across Spain and Cyprus. Uzoho joined APOEL after a spell with Deportivo La Coruna, having initially moved to the Spanish club from its reserve side, Deportivo Fabril.
Born in Nwangele, Nigeria, Uzoho stands at 1.96m and is right-footed. He has represented Nigeria and was part of the side that finished runners-up at the Africa Cup of Nations in the 2023-24 campaign.
His international experience began at youth level, with Uzoho helping Nigeria Under-17s win the Under-17 World Cup in 2013. He later continued his career in Europe, including loan spells at Elche and Anorthosis before establishing himself in the Cypriot game.
Uzoho’s arrival follows Omonia 29th May’s acquisition of a player whose latest club honours include three trophies with Omonia Nicosia. His recorded market value is €300,000, while the transfer itself has been completed without a fee.
The goalkeeper’s competitive record for the 2026-27 campaign includes Europa League and Champions League qualifying competitions, although he had not made an appearance in either before the move. He now joins Omonia 29th May under a deal that keeps him at the club until the end of May 2027.
Francis Uzoho has therefore completed a free transfer from Omonia Nicosia to Omonia 29th May.
