FECOFA publishes provisional list for executive elections

The Electoral Commission of Fédération Congolaise de Football Association has released the provisional list of candidates for its upcoming Executive Committee elections, marking a key stage in the governance process of football in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In a document issued in Kinshasa on 1 May 2026, the commission confirmed that several кандидат lists had been accepted on a provisional basis, while others were rejected for failing to meet the required criteria.

Among those cleared to proceed are lists led by Mwehu Beya Kofela Bosco Michel, Masamba Malunga Jean-Didier, and Mosengo Omba Véron. According to the commission, these candidates satisfied the necessary eligibility requirements, including documentation and endorsement conditions.

However, other applicants were ruled provisionally inadmissible. Notable among them are Mayaka Bolotosako Jean Max and Nonda Shabani Christophe, whose applications were rejected due to incomplete documentation or failure to comply with electoral regulations.

The commission has stated that affected candidates will have a 10-day period in which to lodge appeals, a measure aimed at ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the electoral process.

The publication of the provisional list represents an important step toward finalising the candidates who will contest the elections, which are expected to shape the future direction of football administration in the country.

With stakes high and interest growing among stakeholders, attention now turns to the appeals process and the eventual confirmation of the final list.

The outcome of the elections will determine the leadership responsible for guiding Congolese football in the coming years, making the process a closely watched development within the sport.
