Officials at Hungarian side FC Győr have confirmed that they have not received any formal approach from Al Ahly SC for Algerian striker Ahmed Nadhir Ben Bouali, despite continued reports linking the player with a move to Egypt during the summer transfer window.
Speculation surrounding Ben Bouali’s future has intensified in recent weeks after media reports suggested Al Ahly were considering strengthening their attacking options ahead of next season. The striker had also been linked with the Egyptian club during the previous winter transfer window.
Al Ahly are understood to be searching for a foreign forward after deciding against activating the purchase clause in the loan agreement of Yeltsin Kamwiss, who is expected to return to Norwegian side Tromsø IL at the end of his temporary spell.
However, FC Győr officials insist no negotiations have taken place regarding Ben Bouali.
Speaking in an interview with WinWin, sporting director Stefan Vanhaarne addressed the growing rumours surrounding the Algerian forward and denied receiving any communication from the Egyptian club.
“We have not received any offers to sign Ben Bouali, and his contract with us continues for 3 additional seasons.”
Vanhaarne declined to discuss whether the Hungarian club would consider selling the player during the summer or whether a valuation had already been established for the striker.
Ben Bouali joined FC Győr in the summer of 2025 from Belgian club Royal Charleroi SC in a deal reportedly worth 600,000 euros.
Since arriving in Hungary, the 26-year-old has enjoyed an impressive campaign, becoming one of the club’s standout performers. He featured in 41 matches across all competitions this season, scoring 19 goals and providing six assists.
His total of 25 goal contributions helped FC Győr secure the league title and further increased attention surrounding his future.
The striker’s strong domestic performances have also translated onto the international stage with Algeria national football team.
Ben Bouali was included in Algeria’s squad during the March international break and made an immediate impact. Coming off the bench against Guatemala, he scored once and registered an assist in a comprehensive 7-0 victory after playing 29 minutes.
He also appeared in Algeria’s match against Uruguay, featuring for 11 minutes.
His performances for both club and country have contributed to increasing transfer speculation, with Al Ahly among the sides reportedly monitoring his progress.
The Cairo-based club are expected to reshape parts of their squad during the upcoming transfer window as they seek additional attacking depth. Yet despite the ongoing rumours, FC Győr’s latest comments suggest that no official contact has been made and that Ben Bouali remains firmly under contract with the Hungarian champions.
With three years still remaining on his deal, the club appears to be in a strong negotiating position should interest in the player continue to grow during the summer market.
