El Mehdi Maouhoub: Moroccan forward at Dynamo Moscow linked with Al-Arabi SC switch

Moroccan centre-forward El Mehdi Maouhoub is being linked with a move from Dynamo Moscow to Qatari side Al-Arabi SC, with the Stars League club exploring a deal for the 23-year-old striker. The Casablanca-born forward, who operates through the middle, is under contract with Dynamo until 30 June 2029, meaning any transfer would require agreement with the Russian Premier Liga club rather than a pre-contract arrangement.

Maouhoub only arrived at Dynamo on 23 August 2024, joining from Raja Casablanca in a transfer worth €1.7 million at the time. His current market value is listed at €1m, a figure likely to shape any negotiations between Dynamo and Al-Arabi as the Qatari club weigh up the cost of securing a long-term asset still in his early twenties.

The forward has yet to feature in the Premier Liga this season, with no appearances recorded so far in the 2026-27 campaign. That lack of early-season minutes could make Dynamo more open to discussions, while also giving Al-Arabi encouragement that a deal might be achievable if the player seeks more regular involvement.

Maouhoub heads into this summer’s window on the back of a highly successful 2023-24 season in Morocco, where he became a league and cup winner with Raja Club Athletic. He also enhanced his reputation on the international stage by helping Morocco’s Olympic team secure third place at the 2024 Games, scoring once during the tournament.

For now, Maouhoub remains a Dynamo Moscow player on a contract running to 2029, with Al-Arabi’s interest focused on testing the Russian club’s resolve during the current window.
