Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl says Ismail Saibari’s versatility, physical strength and attacking quality made him the ideal signing for the German champions.
The Moroccan international joined Bayern from PSV Eindhoven in a deal reportedly worth between €50 million and €55 million after impressing for both club and country.
Eberl believes Saibari’s ability to operate in several positions will give head coach Vincent Kompany greater tactical flexibility.
“Thanks to his style, physical strength, strong presence, speed and versatility, he caused us some trouble during those matches against PSV Eindhoven… He has exceptional talent,” Eberl said.
He added that Saibari’s signing reflects Bayern’s desire to build a more flexible squad capable of offering different tactical options.
“The Saibari deal demonstrates our desire to focus on flexibility and to rely on players capable of occupying multiple positions and adding new dimensions to our style.”
The 25-year-old can play in various midfield and attacking roles, while his pace, technical ability and physical presence were key factors behind Bayern’s decision to pursue him.
Saibari’s performances for PSV helped establish him as one of Morocco’s leading players in European football, while his displays at the 2026 FIFA World Cup further enhanced his reputation.
Eberl believes those qualities make the Moroccan a strong fit for Kompany’s plans.
“That’s why it was clear that Ismail Saibari was the perfect choice for us, and thank God the deal was completed successfully,” he concluded.
